What to Bring
Once you have been accepted to South Coast Counseling’s residential treatment program, you will need to pack for your stay accordingly. Here is a list of commonly brought items. Please keep in mind that you are allowed to leave the home to purchase toiletries and personal items, may receive clothing and other personal affects at the home from family or loved ones (subject to search) and will have the freedom to leave the house for employment and errands on a daily basis. You do not need to pack for months of isolation!
- 1 week’s worth of casual, comfortable clothing
- 1 week’s worth of appropriate business or work attire
- Pajamas and robe
- Towels and washcloths (2)
- A jacket or sweater
- 2-3 pairs of shoes, flip flops for shower or in-house use
- Toiletries, hair products, makeup etc.
- Shaving kits and other grooming appliances
- Approved prescription medication (to be checked into the office at intake and dispensed as prescribed)
- Note paper/journal and pens
- AA Big Book, 12 and 12, personal books
- Cell phone
- Computer with wireless internet access
- Personal affects and photos
Prohibited Items:
- Narcotics and certain prescription medications
- Any alcohol or drugs or related paraphernalia
- No clothing with gang-related, alcohol or drug logos or images
- Toiletries containing alcohol such as mouthwash
- Weapons of any kind
- Pornographic material of any kind
