My name is Jennifer and I’m an addict. I grew up in a Hollywood family, a sickeningly sweet lifestyle yet a bit jaded. I never yearned for anything material, we had it all. I was given opportunities in life that many others will never have and yet I still chose the path of sheer destruction.... read more |
My name is Mitch and I’m a recovering alcoholic and addict. I’d like to tell you a little story about my life and how South Coast Counseling in all probability saved it and since then has certainly enhanced it. I started using drugs and alcohol at the age of 17 and gradually graduated to being a daily user and abuser of cocaine, marijuana, and/or alcohol. It had affected my life to the point that...read more |

When I came to South Coast Counseling in September of 2001, I had recently completed a 30 day treatment program for my addiction to cocaine. Although I benefited greatly from my stay in that program, I somehow knew that it would not be enough for me. So, at that point in time I started looking for a structured living environment to further my recovery and it was at South Coast Counseling “Plumer St.” that I found it. They provided warm, loving, and supportive surroundings while I sought employment to prepare myself to get back into the main stream of life. The program is designed with emphasis on spiritual growth as well as a healthy balance in all areas of life. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to come here. It has been by far one of the most worthwhile experiences of my life.

My name is Mark and I am a alcoholic and addict. Five years of heavy alcohol and drug use had taken everything that I worked all of my life to attain. Family, friends, relationships, a six figure job, my self respect and all hope for the future. This last five year run culminated in a trip to Orange County Jail. I had resigned myself to the fact that happiness, hope, and peace of mind were states of being that I could never attain. The first day I stepped foot in South Coast Counseling, I knew I was home. In the nine months I spent there, the right blend of freedom and structure, the fellowship with both the alumni and fellow residents and the re-introduction to the program of alcoholics anonymous has given me my life back. I have gratitude for today and opportunity and hope for the future. Thank you South Coast Counseling for all you have done and continue to do for me and fellow alcoholics/addicts. I will be forever grateful. Special thanks to Jack and Chris for their support. |

| There is a singular moment in everyone’s life that defines their existence and determines their legacy. For me, this moment came on Wednesday, July 13, 2005—the day I arrived at South Coast Counseling. It was then and there that I finally surrendered in my battle with alcoholism and drug addiction....read more |
