Alumni Network - Our
One of the greatest testaments to South Coast Counseling’s residential treatment program is the success and activity of its alumni network. Hundreds of sober people strong, many of SCC’s alumni remain active with Plumer Street on a weekly basis long after their residential stay is over – for years or even decades!
South Coast Counseling encourages a warm family atmosphere, as evidenced at the weekly Wednesday Night Resident and Alumni Dinner and 12 Step Meeting held at Plumer Street. All past clients of South Coast Counseling who have successfully completed the requirements of the program and appropriate length of stay achieve Alumni status of Plumer Street and have a lifetime invitation to attend the weekly dinner and meeting FREE of charge.
As one resident recently told us:
“One of the most powerful things I experienced during and after my stay at Plumer Street are the weekly alumni dinner and 12 step meetings. To share a homecooked meal with people you consider part of your extended family, be welcomed and accepted with open arms by residents, staff, and alumni alike is an indescribable feeling. Sharing my experience, strength and hope with other residents new in sobriety, and having that “base” to call a second home, is a huge part of my sobriety today.”
Alumni also have a standing invitation to participate in a variety of fun house events, including monthly trips to the movies with residents, bowling excursions, and long-time tradition annual and holiday events including Mardis Gras and Comedy Show fundraisers, trips to the OC Fair and other amusement parks, the annual Chili Cook-Off, giant water balloon fights and much more!
